Part of my Greek mythology series.

This one features the Ceryneian Hind, which was one of the most cherished companions of the goddess Artemis. Though the massive deer was female, she had golden antlers and was rumored to be faster than a speeding arrow.

The tree is an almond tree, which is one of the symbols for Artemis.

Ooh, this is a really nice one. I love the detailing on the grass and the elk has a great pose. Do you just flat color and apply texture, or do you shade too?

I paint and shade, too. It's hardly ever just the texture. ^^ Usually I paint more into them, but my professor wanted me to try and leave the colors flat and more graphic instead of trying to create realism. It's definitely another step for me. It'll be hard for me to restrain myself from adding painted details and colors everywhere, but this certainly puts more attention on the inkwork. What do you think of the effect? I think I like it, and I know my professors love it.

This is byooootiful! And not just because it's a deer! You have this washed-out storybook illustration down PERFECT. I could stare at the grass or the bark texture forever.

This is AWESOME, Zeelee! Your art style is so, so pretty. And you just keep getting better and better! :D I love the dear and the tree and all of it. X3

I think it makes your work look a lot cleaner. I prefer this subtle shading, honestly- at least with this kind of illustration.

Wow hun.... your stuff is still so amazing. I must admit though for some reason this one is my favorite thus far of the series. While the others are just as stunning and amazing, I guess I just love this one.

The antlers are great! Love how you showed gold in your eyes and even more stunning is the leaves in the tree. I have never seen them done like that before, and I really think it's very effective and believable. I might just have to bed you for a print of this one when I get my monies!!
